SRTX

Web, Desktop and Tablet Design

While working at SRTX I lead the team designing the user interface and user experience for tracking the production of factory automated machines. Throughput dashboard presents SKU data in a report view, a supervisor dashboard and overall production from beginning to end shows analytics in graphs. The SaaS is maintained with a team comprising of UI/UX Designers, Program Manager, Developers and Stakeholders. Tickets for bug fixes were addressed accordingly and the design system was made to maintain consistency.

This application is designed for desktop, web and tablet dimensions.

Case Study: SRTX Production Tracking System

Project Overview

Project: SRTX Production Tracking System

Objective: Design the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) for a production tracking system to monitor factory automated machines' throughput.

Role: Senior UI/UX Designer

Tools: Figma, Miro, Adobe Photoshop

Project Dynamic: Team project

Deliverables: High-fidelity mockups, wireframes, and a comprehensive design system for web, desktop, and tablet dimensions.

Problem Statement

The client, SRTX, required a robust tracking system to manage and monitor the production processes of automated factory machines. The goal was to provide a seamless and intuitive interface that supervisors could use to track SKU data, view reports, and analyze production metrics in real-time.

Research and Discovery

User Needs:

  • Real-time tracking of production data and analytics.

  • Easy-to-navigate dashboards for supervisors and operators.

  • Comprehensive reports on SKU data and production metrics.

  • Consistent UI/UX across web, desktop, and tablet devices.

User Research:

  • Conducted interviews with factory supervisors, operators, and other stakeholders to understand their workflow and requirements.

  • Analyzed existing production tracking systems to identify common pain points and opportunities for improvement.

Key Insights

  • Supervisors need a clear and concise overview of production metrics to make informed decisions.

  • Real-time data visualization is crucial for identifying bottlenecks and optimizing production efficiency.

  • A consistent design system is necessary to ensure a seamless user experience across different devices.

Design Process

1. Ideation and Conceptualization:

  • Collaborated with the team to brainstorm and develop initial design concepts.

  • Created user personas and journey maps to visualize user interactions and identify key touchpoints.

2. Low-fidelity Prototyping:

  • Developed wireframes to outline the structure and functionality of the dashboards and reports.

  • Ensured the design provided an intuitive and user-friendly experience for supervisors and operators.

3. High-fidelity Prototyping:

  • Designed high-fidelity mockups for web, desktop, and tablet dimensions.

  • Key Features:

    • Throughput Dashboard: Real-time data visualization of SKU data in a report view.

    • Supervisor Dashboard: Overview of production metrics from beginning to end.

    • Analytics Graphs: Detailed graphs showing production analytics and trends.

4. Design System:

  • Developed a comprehensive design system to maintain consistency across all devices.

  • Ensured that the design elements, color schemes, and typography were standardized.

5. Iteration and Testing:

  • Conducted usability testing with target users to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.

  • Iterated on the designs based on user feedback to enhance the overall user experience.

Key Features

  • Real-time Data Visualization: Allows supervisors to monitor production metrics in real-time.

  • User-friendly Dashboards: Intuitive design for easy navigation and quick access to key information.

  • Comprehensive Reports: Detailed reports on SKU data and production metrics.

  • Consistent Design System: Ensures a seamless user experience across web, desktop, and tablet devices.

Results and Impact
